Get Out of Your Comfort Zone & Succeed!

GET OUT OF YOUR
COMFORT ZONE & SUCCEED!

When I was asked to write a blog, the first topic that popped in my head was Happiness: Life of More. Although I wanted to divert to a more tangible health/wellness related topic, I realized how much the two go hand in hand.

Grab a cup of tea, it’s about to get real deep in here!

Have you ever had a moment or maybe moment(s) in your life, where you’ve just had enough or you’re just trying to stay above water… or maybe you are more like some people who have always had a drive deep inside to live a life of MORE?!

It all comes down to different moments of insane courage to make a decision for a change!

Our mind is a powerful thing, we can talk our way out of some amazing things or we can train our mind to not give in to the mediocrity of life and STRIVE TO BE OUR BEST! Yes, I read self-development books monthly. And the one thing I can tell you is the more you invest in your mind, you’ll in turn invest in yourself… THEN watch what happens!

Let me start with my personal story.

My life has been a series of “insane courage and pushing out of my comfort zone” moments.

I moved to Tulsa, OK at the age of 22, not knowing anyone in the city/state, because I knew I wanted to experience more out of life. But it didn’t come easy. I remember crying the day my parents left to drive back home to MN. I was scared out of my mind. (This was before smart phones, so I literally had to pull up a paper map to make my way back and forth to work and my apartment.)

Although I wanted to be there more than anything, it’s amazing what fear and doubt can do to your mindset. That move was one of the most intense, fun, challenging, and exciting times of my life. I became stronger and more independent because of that experience.

When money was tight, I either had to hustle or I ate ramen noodles (eeeek!). From bills, navigating to and from work, meeting people, and spending holidays alone…it definitely was not for the faint of heart.

One of the most uncomfortable moments I had was spending my 23rd birthday alone (this was one month after my move).

Birthdays are celebrated to the Nth degree in my family, so the idea of being completely alone was so foreign to me. I couldn’t afford to cover all my bills, let alone go home for my birthday to spend it with family/friends.

I could’ve curled up on my futon upset at the sheer magnitude of being so alone (it was one of the scariest moments of my life), but instead I got up enough courage to head to a local pub, sat at the bar and met someone who would soon be my best friend.

She made my night pretty spectacular considering I had just met her and her friends. That uncomfortable decision of leaping out and spreading my wings, so to speak, was the beginning of a new thought process for me. I was at least smart enough to recognize that the direct effect of me going out alone, nervous and uncomfortable, led me to new friends, less loneliness and many more new beginnings.

My confidence skyrocketed and that started my new normal… constantly getting out of my comfort zone, to live more, live bigger! That is just one example of what getting out of your comfort zone can do. It allows you the option to avoid Status Quo – Life of Mediocracy.

The decision to move south alone at 22, stay down there and MAKE IT WORK despite being so scared of every next move/decision, ultimately made my reality.

So when we think about living a healthy lifestyle...workout routine, clean nutrition, etc…it all begins with our mind!

We’ve got to be in a mindset of either wanting better or fed up with the status quo! As a personal trainer and nutrition consultant, I’ll take either one of those mindsets when it comes to clients! Because those moments of clarity are your “WHY’s” to being successful! Those WHY’s are your fuel when training gets hard, when you don’t feel like working out, when you would rather eat pizza than a protein shake. Eventually, those WHY’s will fire you up from the core!

How do we get into a healthy regimen to begin with? We’ve got to find a drive and ambition for something better. Better health, better mood, better physique, better sleep, better immune system, or just an all-around better life… you see it all comes down to a decision! A decision to make a change!

So make that DECISION to step out of your comfort zone and achieve ultimate happiness. Health! We have so many options at Fit Evo. Find something that speaks to you or let us help you find your niche that will keep you motivated (in parallel with those WHYs)!

Life is too short.

It’s either One Day, or DAY ONE. You choose!
